The R&D laboratory works with process engineers in developing special process parameters that would ensure proper brazing or welding or that would prevent distortion during any heat treat operation. When new parts are introduced that would be made of materials that are different from a part that was originally made of another material, the lab helps define process parameter changes due to the materials substitution.

The lab team also works with WAM’s FAA Designated Engineering Representative (DER) to develop new repair capabilities, substantiate new repairs or repair waivers.
